I'm a little worried that the single pickup on this model, which is closer to the bridge, might not be what I need when I take it out into a band surrounding. I like the deeper tone I get when picking there. I tend to play with a pick, very close to the neck of my bass. I think the Jazz would probably continue to be my "go to" bass, so purchasing this would just be to add a little variety with a different bass for some fun. I've currently been playing a USA Jazz the last 10 years in a regular gigging oldies band. I have heard there is some Gibson connection with this brand, and I'm thinking that since it's made in the USA, that it might at least hold it's value if I decided I didn't like it and wanted to sell it.
